Hello, I’m Gary!

I am currently a GIS Specialist for a large consulting company that works on projects all around the country. I utilize various software platforms to assist customers in solving complex problems.

I graduated from Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas with my Master of Science in Geosciences (Geology) in May 2020.  I graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth in the spring of 2016 with a BS in geology and a minor in Geographic Information Systems or GIS. I also have the distinction of being a student assistant for the 2019 ESRI International User Conference in San Diego, California. I was selected from around 300 applicants around the world to attend the conference as a student assistant.

I have 2 years of professional GIS experience as a GIS Technician between my undergraduate education and attending graduate school. I also have taken a variety of GIS courses during my 4 years of undergraduate and 2 years of graduate education that include topics such as GIS Programming using Python (ArcPy), Geostatistics and Spatial Data Analysis using RStudio, and Multimedia, Animated, and Internet Mapping. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, making maps, drinking coffee and learning more about our planet.
